Daniel Sterling Morrison went to Heaven unexpectedly on January 27, 2023. Dan was born in Pineville, KY on September 9, 1957, son of the late Harold and Genevieve Morrison. He is survived by his wife Jan Morrison, his brother Cary Morrison, his daughter Rachel Fua, his two sons, Scott (Andrea) Morrison, Jesse (Faith) Morrison, his two stepsons Jonathan (Melissa) Edwards, and Dennie (Tina) Marchbanks, as well as his grandchildren Michael Morrison, Jacob Morrison, Gabriel Morrison, Noah Morrison, Gabriel Soehren, and Atticus Morrison.
Dan graduated from Marion Franklin High School in 1976. Formerly a correctional officer, he retired as a Sergeant in the Army in 2004 and was a truck driver for the last 20 years. He was known for his depth in theology, his love for Jesus, and his fondness for family history and heritage. Among his many accomplishments, Dan was the Buckeye Jr. High state hurdle champion in track, and an avid singer/songwriter. He played several instruments both at home and in the church not limited to guitar, flute, bagpipes, bodhran, as well as many other instruments in the course of his life.
Dan loved to ride his Harley with his wife "Jannycakes." He always appreciated anything that reminded him of the generations before him, and never seemed to miss an opportunity to savor those nostalgic moments. A contemplative man of many talents and interest, he placed a high value on them with family and gathering together.
A gathering together in celebration of Dan's life will be held on Thursday February 2, 2023 at 4:00pm at Carolina Foothills Christian Fellowship at 1521 E. Rutherford St., Landrum, SC 29356. Please also forward any donations, memorials or flowers to the same.
