Clifford “Giz” Leon Stiles of Landrum, South Carolina, previously of Little Lake, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday January 8th, 2025.
Giz was born on December 17th, 1952 in San Antonio Texas. His Dad was in the United States Air Force. They lived in Japan, England and Bozeman, Montana before residing in Little Lake, Michigan in 1968.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Gene and Nancy Stiles, and Deborah (Stiles) Eastridge.
Giz graduated from Gwinn High School in 1970. In his adult years he worked for Dobson’s Moving & Storage in Sands, Michigan before becoming the Manager of Dobson’s in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. In 1980 he started his career in the Steel Industry working for Cleveland-Cliffs Empire Mine holding many titles before retiring from CCI in 2006.
He loved spending time with his family, whether it be playing cards, pictionary or corn hole and he always looked forward to the weekly family meals. He loved to make his famous Prime Rib, and to have a Fish Boil for everyone to enjoy. Giz loved to travel whether it be the mountains or the beach, but he never missed a Green Bay Packer game.
No one has ever been a storyteller like he was. His stories will go on for generations. Giz never met a stranger. He would talk and tell everyone one of his stories. He was an AVID Packer fan and a die hard member of the Greenville Packer Backers of Greenville, South Carolina. Member 365 will never be forgotten. Giz was a member for many, many years of the Ahmed Masonic Temple in Marquette, Michigan. Being a Mason was one of his many achievements that he felt those most proud of. He obtained Master of the Lodge; he was a part of many bodies of the Masons, including the Eastern Star, Square and Compass, Shriners, Jester and the Hillbillies.
Giz is survived by, his Brother, Donald W. (Mary) Stiles, his Daughter, Kerri (Jon) Ellinger, their children, Jordan (Chasity) Jensen, Alissa Jensen, Jonathon (David) Ellinger, Jett (Angel) Ellinger, Kailey (Nathan) Blackwell, Molley Ellinger. Daughter, Kimberly Stiles and her son Cayse Archer. Son, Donald (Stephanie) Stiles and their children Donald Stiles, Corbin Stiles and Tucker Leon Stiles. Great Grandchildren; Damien Bailey, Paisley Bailey, Carley Jensen, Aiden Blackwell, Nolan Ellinger, Novaleigh Ellinger, Cara Jensen.
A celebration of life will be on Monday, January 27th, 2025 at Petty’s Funeral Home
