Chuck Richard Bright, 62 of Campobello, son of the Late Russell Monroe Bright was called home on August 5th, 2021. Chuck passed away peacefully at home after a valiant fight with Pancreatic Cancer.
Chuck grew up in Startex and was an employee of Startex Mill. He is a United States Marine and trained at Parris Island as well as a Third-Degree Mason. He was also a member of the Cherokee Nation. He valued his heritage and followed its values. His career change in the 1980's was into Law Enforcement. He was presently working for the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office as First Sargeant and considered work his second home with friends and colleagues with everlasting friendships.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife Missy, of 30 years. They made their house a home where everyone was welcome for some deck time. He is also leaving two fur babies, Jack and Twinkie. He also leaves behind a loving niece, Angie Bright-Chandler.
Chuck is predeceased by son, Jason Richard Bright and a daughter Mildred Melissa Bright.
Chuck was so appreciative and thankful for the beautiful care from Kindred Hospice. The Chaplain, case worker, and our special nurse, Mindy are the best. Their priority was care for both of us.
Services will be held at Gramling United Methodist Church on Sunday August 8th at 3pm with visitation at 2pm prior to the service. Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery following the service. Pall Bearers are the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office Drill Team and they will perform full Police Rights at the gravesite.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lennie's Kids in Tryon or Kindred Care of Spartanburg.
Please come casual and be happy. Chuck has been called home and this is a great day. And he wanted everyone to know, "Ain't nothing but a thang"
