Christine Barton

Christine Gosnell Barton, 88, of Landrum entered in to the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 15, 2020.

She was the daughter of the late Ed and Grace Gosnell and wife of the late Broadus "Pete" Barton.  

She was a member of Glassy Mountain Baptist Church.  She worked on the farm, retired from Bommer Industries and worked at Landrum Mills.  She loved cooking and sharing it with family and friends.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother who shared so much love.  She was "mama" to a lot of people.  She loved her family and friends with all her heart.

She is survived by two daughters, Sara "Lou" Barton of the home, Ethel Bridges (Doug, her special son-in-law) of Keithville, LA; one granddaughter, Autumn Grace Bridges of Leesville, LA and her non biological son, Nelson Barton of Landrum; two brothers Grady Gosnell of Waller TX,  Curtis Gosnell of Campobello SC; three sisters Earlene Mengel of Greer, SC, Kathryn Gosnell and Sadie Pike of Landrum, SC and 42 special nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers James Smilie Gosnell, Willie Gosnell, Lewis Gosnell; four sisters Magdelene Center, O'Tancy Moon, Sally Center and Ether Jones.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 1:30-3:00 at Petty Funeral Home.  Social distancing must be adhered to.  There will be a private graveside service due to Covid-19.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
