Chief William "Ed" Edward McNeill

William "Ed" Edward McNeill, Jr., of Campobello, passed away suddenly on March 4, 2021.  He was the son of the late William Edward McNeill, Sr. and the late Nora Lee McNeill and the husband of Shirley Ann Quinn McNeill.

He was a member of Campobello First Baptist Church and a veteran of the Army National Guard.  Ed was a dedicated servant to his community where he was a member of the Campobello Fire Department for 44 years and the last 25 years as Fire Chief.  The loves of his life were his seven grandchildren.  They were his "bestest friends and ever".

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Chad McNeill (Erin) and Brandon McNeill (Joy); a daughter Melissa Boone (Ryan); and grandchildren, Adam, Anslee, Addi, Mason, Maddox, Ryleigh and Ryder.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 6 - 8 PM at the Landrum High School Auditorium where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 1 PM conducted by Dr. Michael Bragg.  Chief William "Ed" Edward McNeill will lie in state at the Landrum High School Auditorium on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 8 AM until the time of service.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Campobello Fire Department Christmas Fund, PO Box 9, Campobello, SC 29322 or to the Campobello First Baptist Back Pack Ministries, 255 S Main St, Campobello, SC 29322.

Due to Covid 19, the family requests that social distancing be observed and masks be worn.
