Charles "Chuck" Emil Klages, 92, of Wellford, SC, passed away on May 25, 2026. He is the son of the late Luther Wilbur and Kathryn Miller Klages.
Charles retired from General Electric, where he worked as a Steam Turbine Engineer. In his retirement, he embraced the many hobbies and passions that brought him joy throughout his life. Charles was an accomplished wood carver who enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and flying RC replica planes. He was a proud member of the Lake Cooley Men's Club and especially looked forward to their Friday night gatherings and fellowship. A lifelong history enthusiast, Charles had a deep interest in both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. He was also a skilled taxidermist and will be fondly remembered as a gifted storyteller whose tales and sense of humor brought laughter and enjoyment to his family and friends.
He is survived by a son, Robert "Bob" Marino (Donna) of Ballston Spa, NY; a daughter, Kim Broomhall (Don) of Kettering, OH; step-sons, Richard Rocklin (Debbie) and Mike Rocklin (Angie), both of Little Falls, NY; a sister, Katy Carter; his significant other, Kim Mehaffey; and her family. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
Per Charles's wishes, there are no services planned at this time.
