Charles C. Owens

Charles C. "Charlie" Owens, 90, of Landrum passed away on July 17, 2021.  He was the son of the late Collett and Cora McMurray Owens  and husband of the late Hazel Roddy Owens.

He was an active community member and active in the Presbyterian Church.  He was the former Chief of the Landrum Fire Department where he served for 37 years.    He was a member of the Landrum Masonic Lodge.  He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by a daughter Susan Owens Smith (David); two grandsons Owen Smith (Kristen) and Kenneth Smith (Jessica);  four great grandchildren; and a sister Mary Owens Key.

He was predeceased by a daughter Charlene Owens and a brother Calvin Owens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Petty Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Petty Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Jimmy Camp.   A private entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
