Carrie "Marlene" Smith

Carrie "Marlene" Greene Smith, 75, of Woodruff, SC, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. 

Born in Tryon, NC, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Eva Henderson Greene. She was the widow of Alvin Jimmy Smith. Marlene had a love for animals, especially cats. She also enjoyed helping others, listening to gospel music, and reading her Bible. Marlene was a member of Morgan Chapel Baptist Church. 

Surviving are a brother, Frankie Greene (Pam); a nephew, Cory Greene (Crissie); a niece, Tammy McCraw. Also surviving are great nieces and nephews, Hannah McCraw, Chandler McCraw (Annalynn), Victoria Ledford (Tommy), Nicholas Campbell, Matthew Campbell, Carter Greene, and Emmie Greene. 

Marlene was predeceased by a sister, Marcelle Greene Campbell, and nephews, Kenneth Campbell and Rick McCraw. 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, August 1, 2025 at Morgan Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Fletcher officiating. 

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
