Carrie Lucille Babbitt

Carrie Lucille Parker Babbitt, 93, passed peacefully and joyfully into heaven on June 9 at her home in Landrum, SC. She was born in Beckley, WV, on December 27, 1928, and was the daughter of B. E .and Sarah Parker
.
She was married on July 24, 1945, to Howard L. Babbitt Sr. (deceased) in Kissimmee, FL They lived in Orange/Seminole County until 1972 when the family moved to Mars Hill, NC. Lucille loved living in North Carolina and their apple orchard where they continued raising their family together until moving to Hendersonville, NC. Lucille was widowed on July 3, 1999, after 54 years of marriage. She lived with her son, Howard, Jr, in Landrum, SC, until her death.

Lucille is survived by her children:  Brenda Lyon, Lynn Huth (Danny), Cheryl Anderson (Kenneth), Howard Babbitt, Jr. (Sunshine) and Paul Babbitt (Judy); fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren. Her friend and care-taker, Shannon Jolley, was a special part of Lucille's daily life and Lucille loved her as family.

Lucille was a woman of great faith whose main goal in life was to see all her family in heaven one day. She never hesitated to speak of her faith and love of God. She was a faithful member of church of Christ and was presently a member of the Hendersonville church.

As requested, a memorial service officiated by grandsons, Toby Anderson and Casey Anderson, will be held on June 25 at 2:00 pm at the Hendersonville Church of Christ, 1975 Haywood Road, Hendersonville, NC 28791. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Flowers are appreciated or those who wish may make contributions to the church in her memory.
