Bobby Franklin Barton

Bobby Franklin Barton, 89, of 205 Granger Road, departed on Nov. 9, 2023.

He served the City of Spartanburg as a Public Safety Officer for 26 years, was celebrated as community relations officer of the year in 1987, and retired as an investigating officer in 1991. He was a member of Mesopotamia United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Laughter (Dwight) of Rutherfordton NC, and her children Sandy, Kim, and Melinda; son Reginald Barton of Atlanta GA; and a brother Wendell (Georgia) of Wellford.

He is predeceased by his wife Martha; daughter Cheryl Rowe (Carol) of Spartanburg, and her surviving children Miranda, John Paul, Elizabeth, and Melissa; his sisters Betty-Lou Revan (Monk); and Doris Jean Wofford (E.G.).

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, November 13, 2023 at Petty Funeral Home.
Services to be held at Petty Funeral Home in Landrum on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
