Bill Lawrence

Horace William "Bill" Lawrence, 74, of Columbus, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Spartanburg Medical Center. 

Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Horace and Annie Louise Camp Lawrence. Bill loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed working with his hands, and spent years working in the construction industry. Bill always enjoyed a good hamburger. 

Surviving are two sons, William Clint Lawrence (Jennifer Swartz) and Aaron Jeff Lawrence; a brother, Olin Lawrence; two sisters, Judy Holbert and Nancy Stott (Earl Lee); a grandson, William "Liam" Benjamin Lawrence. Also surviving is his special dog, Festus. 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Mill Creek Church with Rev. Andy Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
