Betty Jo Sherlin

Betty Jo Sherlin (83), of Landrum, S.C., departed from her earthly home and entered her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 5th, 2025. 

Born August 6th, 1941 in Henderson County, Mills River Township, she was the daughter of the late James Herman Chatham and Janie Lou Dalton Chatham. 

Ms. Sherlin served as a nurse in N.C. and S.C., and afterwards devoted herself to her children and husband Bill Sherlin as she worked alongside him in the local family business, Bill's Jewelry, a business owned and operated for 43 years in Tryon N.C.

She had many friends from the local business years, from her local church family, loved ones from her local community, and lifelong friends she considered as family. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Landrum S.C. 

Surviving are her two sons, Randall S. Sherlin (Mrs. Jodi Lynn Fulmer Sherlin), and Keith A. Sherlin. Grandchildren, Patrica Irene Sherlin Bilo (Mr. Chris Bilo), and Randall S. Sherlin Jr. Joyce Summey Chatham (Mrs. Roy E. Chatham) sister-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 2pm to 3.15pm at Fairview Baptist Church (downstairs) on Sunday July 13th. Funeral services will follow after visitation at 3:30pm upstairs in the sanctuary of Fairview Baptist Church (705 Hwy 14, Landrum SC 29356). Services will be conducted by Dr. Keith Sherlin, Rev. Randall Sherlin, and Rev. David Grigg. Graveside services will follow at the church cemetery.
