Betty Hamm Salley passed away December 31, 2020 at the age of 92. She was the widow of Lorn Salley and daughter of Kate and William Hamm. She was born in Inman, Virginia and lived most of her adult life in Dayton, Ohio.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cathy and David Edwards; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Sheri Salley; grandchildren Justin Salley and Jennifer Salley, sister Sue Hamm Riley (Allen) and brothers Les Hamm and Don Hamm. She is predeceased by sisters Loraine Lindsey, Margie Story and Brothers Bonham Hamm, William (Tick) Hamm, Harold Hamm, Bob Hamm, Richard Allen Hamm and Gary Hamm. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her role as grandmother (MawMaw) and great grandmother (GGMa).
She was a member of Moraine Heights Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member and participant in the nursing home ministry. As a resident of Ashlan Village, Lyman, SC she sang with the Ashlan Village choir, contributing her strong alto voice. She will be remembered for her love of God, family, zest for life, a keen sense of humor and beautiful singing.
