Obituary
Betty Jane Center, 84, of Landrum, SC, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in her home.
Born in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Moses and Sinney Oliver Harris and the widow of Marty Center. Betty will be remembered as an independent woman who enjoyed cars and especially her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
Surviving are three sons, Edgar Atkins (Kathy), Gary Atkins (Ellen), and Donald Atkins (Deborah); a daughter, Tammy McKinney (Phillip); a brother, Tommy Harris; a sister, Ethel Atkins. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by a daughter, Freida Harrison, a son, Timmy Plumley, and many brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Petty Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne Pruitt officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10a.m. - 11a.m. prior to the service
Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Landrum, SC
