Arlean Rita Ridgway, 83, passed away on February 17th at Agape Hospice in Landrum, South Carolina. She was born on March 16th 1937 in Detroit Michigan to Adam and Ann Klos.
Arlean grew up in Detroit Michigan and graduated from Cooley high school in 1954. Arlean then attended University of Detroit while working her way thru school and earned a degree in English. After graduating from U of D she worked as a teacher and later as a stock broker for Merrill Lynch and then Olde Discount Brokerage before retiring in 1999.
Arlean married Frank Mistor in 1962. They were married for 30 years and had 3 children – Matthew, Elizabeth and Lauren. In 2001 Arlean married Glen Ridgway and lived in Howell MI, Naples FL and McCormick SC.
After retiring she was active in many charities in both Florida and South Carolina. Arlean also enjoyed golfing, kayaking, taking art classes and travel taking many cruises around Europe.
Arlean is survived by her brother Thomas Klos, her sister Bernadine Rafuse, her children – Matthew Mistor, Elizabeth Cox, Lauren Smith and her five step children Glen Ridgway, Mark Ridgway, Vanessa Rodriguez, Jennifer Luker, and Yvonne Swinson. Arlean had 3 grandchildren – Megan Cox, Ian Cox and Lindsay Cox.
Arlean was preceded in death by Glen Ridgway on January 19th 2021.
