William  Thomas Stone, 91, of Campobello passed away on December 17, 2017.  He was the son of the late J. Samuel Stone and Estella Rebecca Watson Stone Mathis and husband of the late Shirley Raines Stone.

He was retired from JP Stevens and Inman Mills and was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church.  He was a US Navy Veteran having served in WWII.  He received the Asaitic Pacific Medal and the Victory Medal.

He is survived by two sons, William Donald "Donnie" Stone (Connie Nodine Stone) and Samuel Jeffrey Stone (Judy Ward Stone); two sisters, Rebel Brackett and Lois Hall; two half brothers, Docky Mathis and Lloyd Mathis; five grandchildren Samantha Privatte (Brent), Sarah Rebekah Stone, Crystal Michelle Stone, Courtney Marie Cribb (Holden) and Christopher Derrick Stone; two great grandchildren, Caroline Emsley Privatte and Nolan Thomas Privatte.

He was predeceased by a grandson, William Rockford "Rocky" Stone.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Petty Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Lynn Stewart.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home and following the funeral service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens and will be private.
