William R. Smith

William R. Smith, 83, of Campobello passed away on December 17, 2017.  He was the son of the late Charlie Smith and Amy Smith Gowan and husband of Mary Staggs Smith.

He was retired from Spartanburg Steel and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Smith; a daughter, Renee Hollifield (Mike); a son Ricky Smith (Teresa); and a granddaughter, Tori Smith.

He was predeceased by a daughter Cheryl Lynn Smith; a brother, Charlie Smith, Jr. "Sonny"; and two sisters, Dot Wilson and Ruth Kirby.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Tim Clark and Dr. Henry Johnson.  Burial will be at Motlow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
