Vivian Lown

Vivian Lovelace Lown, 93, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Hospice House of Landrum, South Carolina.  She was predeceased by her husband of 73 years Carlyle Lown and her brother, Gleason Lovelace.

She was born on May 16, 1924 in Poughkeepsie, New York, the daughter of Edgar J. and Edith Lovelace.  She lived in Hyde Park, New York before moving to Columbus, North Carolina in January of 2013.

She worked at Vassar Brothers Hospital, in the laboratory and engineering departments for 30 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea C. Lown; her son, Jeffery L. Lown and a daughter-in-law, Jo Jean Lown; four grandchildren, Kristin A. Lown, Eric Lown, Jamie Lown and Radiance Jacks; daughter-in-law, Ann Marie Verdi, mother of Kristen and Eric Lown; five great grandchildren, Evan Lown, Emma Lown, Abby Lown, Brie Jacks and Shapphira Detrick.

The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the entire staff of Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills for the excellent care and compassion given to her.
