Virgina Burrell Sanders

Virginia Burrell Sanders, 84, wife of Frank Sanders, died Monday, July 9, 2018 at Patewood Rehab & Healthcare in Greenville. Born in Landrum, she was the daughter of the late Curnel L. and Leatha McClure Lockhart.

She was a loving mother and a  homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Roger D. Burrell (Deborah); a daughter, Donna B. Alexander (Hal); two brothers, Johnny Lockhart and Gary Lockhart both of Landrum; five sisters, Greta Searcy of Atlanta, Shelby Jean Umphress of Greer, Lula Hawkins, Janice Borgia, Joyce Hardin all of Landrum; two grandchildren, April Burrell Fowler of Florida and Derick Alexander of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. J.C. Burrell and a grandson, Jay Dusty Alexander.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 2:00-2:45 P.M. at Petty Funeral Home.  Graveside services will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Lynn Stewart officiating.
