Samuel Stone

Samuel Earl Stone, 93, of Campobello passed away on July 13, 2017.  He was the son of the late Samuel J. Stone and Estella Rebecca Watson Mathis and husband of the late Margaret McCarter Stone.

He was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church where he served as an usher for 60+ years.  He was a retired farmer and millworker.

He is survived by a son, Stacy Brooks Stone; three brothers, William Thomas "Bill" Stone, Lloyd Mathis and Lige Mathis; two sisters, Lois Hall and Rebel Brackett; and 3 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday July 14, 2017 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Holston Creek Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Reggie Parker.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
