Robert A. Hammett

Robert Alver Hammett, 87, of Campobello passed away on April 15, 2017.  He was the son of the late Robert Lee and Ruby Bryant Hammett.  He was the loving husband of Dorothy Thomason Hammett for 62 years.

He was a member of Motlow Creek Baptist Church and retired from Community Cash as a meat cutter.  He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hammett; a son, Bruce Hammett and wife Kim; two daughters, Debbie Babb and husband Robin and Rita Hammett; daughter in law Peggy Hammett; a brother, Billy Ray Hammett; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a son, Donnie Hammett.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, April 17, 2017 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Motlow Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Henry Farmer and Rev. Michael Bragg.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
