Preston "Pete" Owens

Preston "Pete" Owens, 82, of Landrum passed away on November 1, 2018.   He was the son of the late William Sidney Owens and Alma McSwain Owens Prince and husband of Marilyn Newman Owens.

He was a truck driver with Carolina Freight for 32 years and a member of Bible Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Owens; two sons, Preston Owens (Michelle) and Michael Owens (Patsy); a step son Travis Ruff (Shea); grandchildren, Hayley Moore, Cameron Owens, Sydney Owens, Payton Owens, Gracie Ruff and Michael Benfield; great grandchildren Connor, Emmalyn, Kane and Ava; a brother, Douglas Prince (Lisa); and two sisters, Mary Jo Rhymer (Fred) and Peggy Orduna.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Mitzi Owens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Tommy Turner.  Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Landrum, SC.
