Preston Sidney Collins

Preston Sidney Collins, 83, of Green Creek, NC passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.  He was the son of the late Ulysess Sidney and Agatha Chitwood Collins and husband of Margaret Alberta Bradey Collins for 62 years.

He was a member of Green Creek First Baptist Church, retired Electrician from Ivey Electric after 32 years, retired firefighter with the Green Creek Volunteer Fire Department and he loved to hunt and fish.

In addition to his wife Margaret he is survived by two sons, Roger Collins, Bruce Collins(Jayne); two brothers Wallace and Gerald Collins, two sisters, Louise Edwards, Sadie Jackson; four grandchildren, Yuleta Marta, Dakota Collins, Sydney Holbert, Jacob Collins and three great grandchildren, Nathaniel Morta, Holden Holbert and Lillian Holbert.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Clifford Collins and two sisters, Evelyn Freeman and Edna Bruno.

The family will receive friends 11:00am-12:00pm Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Green Creek First Baptist Church.  Funeral services will follow at 12:00pm in the church conducted by Rev. Jim Hooper, Rev. Allan McKinney and Rev. Randy Metcalf.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
