Pete Rhymer Obituary

Donald "Pete" Rhymer , 82, of Landrum  passed away at his home on November 10 , 2018.  He was the son of the late Winn and Edith Brady Rhymer.

He was of the Baptist faith and a retired welder with Daniels Construction.  Pete loved dirt track racing and going to rodeos with the kids.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jean Belue Rhymer, a daughter, Rita Hyder (Terry); a son Donnie Rhymer(Mary); grandchildren, Cole Hyder(Kimberly),  Zach Hyder(Tristin),  Kelli Horton(Erik), Brad Rhymer(Brooke), Jackson and Rebecca Rhymer; 6 great grandchildren; a brother Fred Rhymer and a sister, Ann Clayton.

He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Sam, WC and Jack Rhymer.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David Grigg, Rev. Chuck Mullinax and Mike O'Shields.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC  28043 or to the Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter, 901 South Pine Street, lower level, Spartanburg, SC 29302
