Mary Ethel Nodine

Mary Ethel Henderson Nodine, 87, of Landrum, passed into the loving arms of her Lord Jesus on October 16, 2018.  She was the daughter of the late Broadus and Virginia Layne Henderson, and widow of Russell Nodine. She was also a member of Landrum First Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandy Nodine Garner (Gary) of Inman; sister, Dorothy Lockman of Chesnee; grandchildren, Tiffany Nodine Loera (Jose) of Cumming, GA, and Brandon Nodine of Landrum; daughter-in-law, Paulette Walden Nodine of Landrum, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl; a son, Larry; a grandson, Jason; and sisters, Amelia Wolfe, Verle Jenkins, Helen Bridges and Louise Foster.

After earning her diploma from Chapman High School as salutatorian, she enjoyed working as a beautician for many years. She also took great joy in traveling with her sisters and would often visit Pigeon Forge, TN. She was fervently devoted to her family throughout her lifetime, and was deeply respected and loved by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Landrum First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Mark Bishop.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary.  Private burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at a later date.
