Marvin "Dean" Blackwell

Marvin Dean Blackwell, 83, of Campobello went home to be with his Lord on Friday, November 17, 2017. Dean was born on a piece of land that eventually became Caroland Farms, where he worked for over 50 years and will be buried on what once was a part of that same farm.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth (Lib) Pitts Blackwell. He was a member of Redland Road Baptist Church and he loved the Lord and his family.

Survivors in addition to his wife include, two sons Jerry (Doris) Blackwell of Campobello and Marvin (Linda) Blackwell of Green Creek; two daughters Sandra (Larry) McSwain of Wilmington, NC and Debra Helton of Campobello; four sisters and two brothers, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sisters, three brothers and a son in law Charles (Chuck) Helton.

The family will receive friends on Monday November 20, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Tuesday November 21, 2017 at Petty Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. John Parker, Dr. Tommy Turner, Rev. Zack Blackwell and Rev. Ray Allison. Burial will be at Jackson Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home.
