Kimberly "Kimi" Beth (Havko) Self

Kimberly Beth Havko Self died Sunday 6/11/2017 at her parents' home in Spartanburg, SC after a long illness. She was born on 8/22/1982 to Christine Anne Zikmund Havko & Andrew Homer Havko. Kimi became a vegetarian at age 11 because of her love for animals. She was especially fond of cats and leaves behind her beloved “Miss Kitty”. She loved playing with children and was a 2nd mother to her niece and nephews. She was also her parents' caregiver through her father's cancer, mother's health issues, and her parents house fire. Kimberly was a kind, gentle, smart, free-spirited woman who was loved so much and will be missed by her family & friends. She is survived by her parents Chris and Homer Havko, her sister Tracy (Adam) McConathy of Poncha Springs, CO, brother Major Andrew C. Havko (Lindsay) at McGuire AFB, NJ, sister Stephanie (Randy) Greene of Campobello, SC, grandmother Catherine “Kate” Havko of Pittsburgh, PA & stepgrandmother Helen Zikmund of West Chester, PA; also her nieces Tori Neet & Miriam Havko & nephews Steven (Caitlin) Havko, Jason Neet, Connor & Carson McConathy, Brandon Greene and Gideon Havko. She is predeceased by her niece Alexis Greene, maternal grandparents Joseph and Irene Zikmund of Phoenixville, PA & paternal gandfather Homer Havko of Pittsburgh, PA.

Chaplain Andrew Fischer will conduct a Memorial Service for Kimberly at Hatcher Gardens, 820 John B. White, Sr. Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29306 on Wed., 6/21/17 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Tracy McConathy, P.O. Box 32, Poncha Springs, CO., 81242 for a Japanese weeping cherry tree to be planted in the center of the new children's garden. A memorial stone will be placed at the base of the tree. A Memorial Service will be held in Pittsburgh at a later date.
