Jack Marion Rhymer, Sr., 84, of Inman, passed away of July 12, 2018. He was the son of the late Winn and Edith Brady Rhymer.
He served in the Korean War. He loved westerns, gospel and bluegrass music, and fishing. He was retired from Springs Industries after 41 years. He was a member of Inman First Baptist Church for 48 years and a member of the Goodwill Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty H. Rhymer; a son, Jack M. Rhymer, Jr.; a daughter, Karen R. Trout (Sam) both of Inman, SC; his grandchildren, Lauren T. Cox (Kevin) of Monks Corner, SC and Brady S. Trout (his girlfriend, Paige Nichols) of Inman, SC; two brothers, Fred Rhymer (Mary Jo), Pete Rhymer (Jean), both of Landrum, SC; a sister, Ann Clayton of Campobello, SC and a sister-in-law, June Rhymer also of Landrum, SC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Tucker.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Luann Rhymer and two brothers, Sam Rhymer and WC Rhymer.
The family will receive friends from 1:45-2:45pm, Sunday, July 15, 2018 in the atrium of Inman First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm in the sanctuary, conducted by Dr. Paul Moore and Dr. Jeremiah Childers. Honorary Escorts will be the Goodwill Sunday School Class. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 19630 Asheville Hwy., Landrum, SC.
