Fred Julian Fisher

Fred Julian Fisher, 93, of Landrum, SC, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC.

Born in Inman, SC, he was the son of the late Boyce and Flora Dixon Fisher. Fred was the widower of Inez Mildred Brady Fisher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. Fred received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He retired from Lockwood Greene as a mechanical engineer. Fred was a longtime employee of Landrum Hardware, Landrum, SC. Fred was also the past president of Landrum Lion’s Club. A 33 KCCH mason, he was a past master of Landrum Masonic Lodge #278, a past wise master of Spartanburg Chapter Rose Croix of the Scottish Rites Bodies. Fred was also a member of the Royal Order of Scotland. He was a past state co-chairman and board member of the SC Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation. Fred was a member of First Baptist Church of Landrum.

Surviving are two daughters, Donnie Fisher-Skipper and Connie Faye Seay (Gary); two sisters, Dixie Fisher and Jackie Polson. Also surviving are four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a dear friend, Darrell Bustle.

Fred was predeceased by a brother, Douglas Fisher.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Landrum.  A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Jimmy “Hambone” Camp officiating. A Masonic Rites Service will follow.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Spartanburg, SC with military honors.
