Erving Boggs Obituary

Erving Weeks Boggs of Campobello, husband of Susan Grimley, died February 6, after a brief illness. Son of the late Thomas Edgar Boggs, Jr. and Martha Glen Barksdale Boggs, he was born on October 11, 1948. He attended Spartanburg City Schools, Presbyterian College, and University of South Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother Thomas Edgar Boggs,III, and his sister Charlotte Jennings Boggs. He is survived by his wife, his brother Glen Barksdale Boggs,II (June), nephew Cameron Grant Boggs (Tiffany), and younger nieces and nephews.

Erving worked at the Spartanburg County Public Library for many years, at both the Pine Street and Church street locations. He loved books, especially history, literature and fine art books and was an avid gardener of camellias, but his favorite hobby was getting people to stop a minute and have a good laugh. His kindness and loyalty to friends and family will be cherished always.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Foothills Humane Society www.foothillshumanesociety.org, The Henry Burritt and Martha Glen Reeves Jennings Memorial Funds at the Spartanburg County Foundation, or a charity of one's choice.

A gathering of friends and family will take place at the Yellow House in Landrum, from 4 to 6 on February 16. Services will be private.
