Dickie Shults

March 4, 2017

Dickie Shults, 63, of Campobello went home to be with the Lord on  March 4, 2017.  He was the son of the late W.C. and Carolyn Raines Shults and husband of Becky Homan.

Dickie never met a stranger and he was most happy when surrounded by family and friends. A man who possessed a heart full of caring and giving whose smile was contagious, he was the salt of the earth. Dickie enjoyed going to auctions and Saturday morning yard sales in hopes of finding great treasures to collect. He enjoyed operating heavy equipment in construction and was a hard worker, always providing for his family. Dickie also started out coaching when his children were young. He began as a tee ball coach, coached soccer, and then coached girls softball for many years.
Dickie attended Bible College and later went to auctioneer school to follow his passion with collectibles. He also enjoyed fishing trips, traveling, and spending precious time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church where he served in the nursing home ministry.

He is survived by his wife, Becky; a son, Chris Shults;  three daughters, Wendy Shults, Misty Medlin and Lourdes Carmona; a brother, George Shults; a sister, Evelyn S. Wright; 13 grandchildren Brook, Blake, Jordyn, Logan, Tanner, Alia, Dylan, Jay, Jaelyn, Nathan, Teagan, Taegan and Madiysan; 3 great grandchildren, Carson, Bentley and Carter; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Sherry Wilson Shults and a brother Roy Shults.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, March 10, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tommy Turner.  Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery at Florence Moore Presbyterian Church.
