Charles Tirpak

Charles Peter Tirpak, of Landrum passed away on February 11, 2019.  He was the son of the late John Peter and Hazel Shepherd Tirpak.

Charles was a creative man and an avid reader.  He wrote science fiction novels and enjoyed watching the sport of baseball.   Charles created his own board games for his children that he and his family enjoyed for many years.  He served in the US Navy and reserves for 6 years.

His family will be forever grateful to his most loved companion Diane Smith.  He is also survived by his son Chuck Tirpak and wife Claudia; his daughter Darlene Tanenbaum and husband Mark; five grandchildren Cody, Heather, Laura, Georgia and Charlie and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Petty Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 2270 S Pine St, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
