Beau Willoughby Obituary

Beau M. Willoughby
Dateline: Columbus, NC

Beau Matthew Willoughby, 30, of Columbus passed away on November 6, 2018.  He was the son Pete Willoughby and Donna Krehbiel.

He is survived by his parents; three brothers, Paul Willoughby, Bryce Willoughby, Vincente Willoughby; sister, Eva Willoughby; and his grandparents, Paul and Margaret Willoughby.

Beau loved adventure. He loved hiking, riding his dirt bike, and flying. Music and movies were his favorite pastimes. But most of all, he loved his friends, family, and treasured his relationship with his grandparents. He was such a dedicated son, brother, nephew, and friend. A heart of gold he had. He would give his shirt off his back for a stranger. From 2014 to 2017 he was a member of the Asheville Fire Department and went on to pursue his dreams on the Bering Sea. There he worked on the Cape Horn commercial fishing vessel as an assistant Oiler. He loved his work, his crew, and especially his captain. His goal was to become Chief one day. He worked aimlessly to achieve his goals but unexpectedly his time here on earth was cut too short. Beau, we miss you so much. You will forever be present in our hearts and minds. See you soon my dear boy.

A visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 starting at 4:00pm at the Asheville Fireman's Camp, 227 Clayton Road, Arden, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Donna Montgomery, 450 Old Brevard Hwy, Horseshoe, NC 28742 for a charity to still be determined.
