Lillie Magdalene (Trammel) Bradey

Lillie “Magdalene” Trammel Bradey, 93, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum SC.  Born in Woodruff SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie J. and Maggie Phillips Trammel and the devoted wife of the late William “Bill” Bradey for 60 years.  

She was a graduate of Woodruff High School, North Greenville Junior College, and Winthrop College. An educator for more than 40 years, she taught in both North Carolina and South Carolina.  Most of her career was spent teaching 1st and 2nd graders at Green Creek Elementary School in Polk County NC.  

She was a member of First Baptist Church Landrum, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and was active in the WMU.  Also active in the community, she was a volunteer at Operation Hope in Landrum.  Sharing her love of flowers and plants, she was the Secretary of the Landrum Garden Club for 20 years. 

She is survived by a daughter, Naomi Bradey of West Columbia SC, and a son, Jeffery Bradey of Hanover MD.  She was predeceased by two sisters, Sarah Willard and Helen Williams, and one brother, James Trammel.  

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be at 10:30am, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at First Baptist Church Landrum conducted by Rev. Mark Bishop.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
