Lewis V. Mathis

Lewis Victor Mathis, 95, of 405 N. Pine Ave. died June 16, 2012 at White Oak Manor. A native of Rock Hill, SC, he was son of the late Lewis and Daisy Mathis and husband of the late Margaret Rascoe Mathis.
He was retired after 37 years as district manager for the Spartanburg Herald. He was a member of the Landrum United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
He is survived by a son, Victor Mathis and his wife Barbara of Moore, SC.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45pm Monday, June 18, 2012 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice and a special friend, Irene Settle for her friendship and special care.
