William "Bill" Ervin Bradey, 86, husband of his beloved wife, Magdalene Trammel Bradey died Monday, January 30, 2017 at Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum, SC.
William was born May 9, 1930 in Landrum to the late Nellie Carruth Bradey and Oscar Tillman Bradey. He was a graduate of Landrum High School. He attended North Greenville University and graduated from Newberry College with a B.S. degree. William honorably served his country in the Air Force during the Korean conflict.
He spent his career at Jack Rabbit Photo Finishing for 17 years and Broome Hardware for 15 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Landrum where he served as a deacon, on various committees and in Sunday school.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years; two children, Naomi Bradey of Columbia and Jeffery and wife Kathleen of Severn, MD; a half-brother and sister, Loran and Beth Bradey.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Elmer Bradey, Rev. Homer Bradey, Hugh "Whitey" Bradey; two sisters Nelle Bradey Lee and Grace Bradey Broome.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00am Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the First Baptist Church Landrum conducted by Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Kevin Dalton. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
