Vaughn Ray Gowan, 79, of Prosperity, SC passed away on August 19, 2015.  He was the son of the late Paul and Grace Turner Gowan and husband of Shelby Jean Solesbee Gowan.

He was a retired builder.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Tommy Puckett and Bobby Boulware; four daughters, Deborah Lovings, Vickie Jackson, Edna Melton and Marlene Waldrop; a brother, John Gowan; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Vaughn Ray Gowan, Jr. and a brother, Alvin Gowan.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00pm Monday, August 24, 2015 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 4:00pm at the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Lynn Stewart.  Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
