Rene J. Tanguay

Rene J. Tanguay, 80, of Landrum died Friday June 12, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  He was the son of the late Joseph Thomas and Jeannette Cardin Tanguay and the husband of Johanna Ziegler Tanguay.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tryon, NC and a retired Connecticut State Trooper.  He was also in the Knights of Columbus and a United States Army Veteran.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Theresa Hall and husband Craig, Linda Daniels and husband Vance; a son Brian Tanguay; a sister Yvette Beauchemin; eight grandchildren, Deidre, Karl, Monica, Gabriele, John, Jeanna, Marybeth and Emily; a great grandchild, Isaac.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 7:00 PM Friday, June19, 2015 at Petty Funeral Home with a Rosary Service beginning at 6:30 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tryon, NC, conducted by Father Roger Arnsparger.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC  28722.
