Milon Lewis went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 9, 2016.  He was born on February 08, 1923 in Campobello, SC.  Mr. Lewis was the son of the late Joe and Fannie Easler Lewis.  He was the husband of the late Margie Smith Lewis for 69 years.

He is survived by one son, Ray Milon Lewis and his wife Lynne of Campobello, and daughter Brenda Lewis Sims of Inman, Three grandchildren. Six great grandchildren.  Additional survivors include one sister Betty L. Tyler of Lyman, two brothers, Howard (Rass) Lewis of Spartanburg and Mack Lewis of Campobello. 

He was predeceased by brothers, Henry, Jobby and Francis Lewis and three sisters, Emma Compton and Esther L. Humphries and Frannie L. Ayers.  He has a host of other relatives and friends.

Milon was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a corporal serving in World War 2 in Pearl Harbor, Okinawa, Korea, and Tokyo, Japan.  He was a retired truck driver from Union Camp Corporation.  He was a lifetime member of the Walnut Hill Baptish Church in Campobello and lifetime member of American Legion in Inman, S.C.

He loved driving a tractor, plowing a field and always fishing and hunting.  He worked for years in peaches and farming and was known for never wearing shoes.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00pm Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev Scott Lewellen, Rev. O'Dell Moseley, and Rev. Gary Hensley Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 3:00pm at Walnut Hill Baptist Church.

The family will be at their respective homes, 2800 Compton Bridge Rd. Campobello, and 460 Island Ford Rd. Inman.
