John Daniel Spakes, 50, of Inman passed away February 18, 2013. He was son of Mary Ruth Burrell Spakes Morris and the late James Donald Spakes. He was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church and owner of Spakes Body Shop.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his girlfriend, Dee Jones; four daughters, Danielle Spakes, Jodi Rae Spakes, Kassie Spakes and Morgan Spakes; and a brother, Mike Spakes (Kim). His step-father, Marion Morris; step brother, Jackie Morris (Jackie); step sisters, Kathy Miller and Sheila Braziel (Gary).
He was predeceased by step brother, Roger Morris and step sister, Betty Gregory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednedsay, February 20, 2013 at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Michael Owenby. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, P.O. Box 1582, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
The family is at the home of his mother, 9 Orchard Lane, Inman, SC 29349.
