J. L. Mosley

J. L. (John Landrum) Mosley died June 4, 2015.  Born September 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles Hubert and Mary Louise Finch Mosley and a life-long resident of Spartanburg County.  

Following his Army service during the Korean War he returned home and began working in the construction industry.  He began his own residential contracting business in 1962 and continued working until his death.  

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Edwards Mosley; daughter Alisa Mosley and her husband Thomas Kosmata of Lexington, SC; son Philip Mosley of Campobello, SC; granddaughter Lane-Marie Mosley Kosmata of Lexington, SC; sisters Viola Burns of Spartanburg, SC; Emma Ravan of Landrum, SC; Avalon Medley and her husband Roland of Campobello; numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was predeceased by his brothers Wesley, James, and Raymond and sisters Muriel Oliver, Ethel Sloan, and Elizabeth Poteat.

Visitation will be June 6 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of the Smith Phayer Hospice House, 260 Fairwinds Drive, Landrum, SC. A memorial service will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Scott Mosley.
