J. Harry Allen

J. Harry Allen of Flat Rock, NC passed away on August 24, 2017.  Son of the late Clyde W. and Ethel Reid Allen and was a native of Taylors, SC.  He retired from Sheridan Homemaker and was former Sales Promotion and Advertising Director for Meyers Arnold Department Store in Greenville, SC.

He is survived by his best friend, Milton Marion; nieces Judy and Marshall Bellamy and Family and Kay Bumgardner and Family; and a nephew Willliam Roger Chesney and Family. 

He was a member of Tuxedo First Baptist Church and was a former minister of music for several Baptist Churches in Upstate SC.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 2:30pm at First Baptist of Gowensville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm at Petty Funeral Home in Landrum. 

Memorials may be made to Tuxedo First Baptist Church in Tuxedo, NC and to REACH for Independence, Fletcher, NC.
