J.D. Wells

J.D. "Stump Jumper" Wells, 78, of 106 Horton Road passed away on February 10, 2016.  He was son of the late Luther and Bell Cowan Wells and husband of the late  June Metcalf Wells.

He was of the Baptist faith.  He was a retired truck driver and had worked with Earnhart Trucking, Edwards Logging and Ronnie Garrett Logging.

He is survived by his children, David Wells of Landrum, Connie Bedford of Forest City, Sandra Conner of  Tryon, Crissy Hughes of Campobello, Waymon Orick of Landrum and Tammy Cox of Landrum; a sister, Edna Belue of Landrum; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. 
He was predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Painter.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm at Petty Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. John Williams.

The family is at the home of Crissy Hughes, 170 Lanford St., Campobello, SC.
