Hugh Edward Lanford

Hugh Edward Lanford, 78, of Wellford  passed away on July 17, 2015.  He was the son of the late Hugh Thomas and Katherine Edwards Lanford.

He was a retired Chemist from Kelmar Industries.  He had also worked for extended periods at Milliken and ABCO Chemicals. He was a member of the American Chemical Society,  a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and served in the US Army.

He is survived by a son, Jeffrey Lanford (Robin) of Greenwood; a brother, Richard Lanford (Faye) of Lyman; a sister, Kathy Thomas (Bobby) of Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Hayes Lanford of Beaufort, SC and Savannah Jane Lanford;  nieces, Gina Thomas, Caroline Ridings, Christine Hall; and great nieces and nephews, Ashley and Loren Robinson, Braxton and Mason Ridings, Isabella Murray and Hannah Hall.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday at Petty Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Joe Dempsey.  Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
