Henry Franklin Raines

Henry Franklin Raines "The Champ", 84, of Landrum  went home to be with the Lord at his residence on October 14, 2017.  He was the son of the late Charlie Gray and Lola McCrain Raines and husband to  Louise Weaver Raines.

He was in the US Army, a self-employed brick mason and a member of Mountain View Church of God of Prophecy.

In addition to his wife, Louise, he was survived by a son, Douglas Henry Raines; four daughters, Betty Raines Harris, Margaret Raines Ralko, Freida Raines Becknell, Barbara Raines Henderson; four sisters, Evelyn Tunker, Helen Arledge, Sylvia Stewart, Cecelia McClure-Miller; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a son, Michael Charles Raines, four brothers, Paul, Jimmy, Clyde and Leon Raines and a sister, Mildred Tiner.

The family will receive friends 2:00-3:00 pm Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Petty Funeral Home.  Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3:00pm conducted by Rev. Jimmy Camp.  Burial will be in Mountain View Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.

The family wishes to offer a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
