Grover Jay Hyder

Grover Jay Hyder, 47, of 5947 Highway 14, Landrum went to be with the Lord April 1, 2008 at The Elizabeth House. A native of Polk County he was the son of the late Grady Andrew and Mariette Schonearts Hyder. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and worked for Hyder Farms.

He is survived by a son, Travis Hyder of Inman; a daughter, Kelly Hyder of Inman; four brothers, Joe (Cathy) Hyder of Lyman, James (Sonya) Hyder of Landrum, Justin (Lori) Hyder of Landrum, Johnny (Beverly) Hyder of Inman; three sisters, Maria H. (Lee) Fuentes of Landrum, Michelle H. (Jimmy) Jackson of Landrum, Marcelle Hyder of Greenville, two grandchildren, Jose Pierce and Carlos Pierce; several nieces and nephews and a beloved friend, Susan Pierce.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm Friday at Fairview Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm at the church conducted by Rev. Chuck Mullinax. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home of a sister, Michelle Jackson, 5699 N. Highway 14, Landrum, S.C.
