George "Buck" William Whiteside, 76, of 209 N. Laurel Ave. died March15, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Polk County, NC , he was the son of the late William "Red" and Ruby Williams Whiteside and husband of Ruth Greenway Whiteside for 50 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was a member of Morgan Chapel Baptist Church and owner of Whiteside Stateline Curb Market.

In addition to his wife, he survived by three sons, Clinton Nodine, Donnie Whiteside, John "Mudd" Whiteside all of Landrum; two daughters, Billie Praytor of Landrum, Mary Jean Doggett of Lyman; two brothers, Calvin Whiteside of Landrum; Mitchell Whiteside of Greer; five grandchildren, Tara and Kristin Whiteside; Ryan, Ridge and Rylee Praytor.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Billy, Donald and Caroll Whiteside and one sister, Carolyn Whiteside.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30pm Thursday at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 4:00pm Friday at Petty Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Chuck Mullinax and Rev. Johnny Williams.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home.
