Edward Vanover

James Edward Vanover, 57, of Inman passed away on August 29, 2017.  He was the son of the late James Lowell and Rose Marie Slemp Vanover and husband of Teresa Lawton Vanover.

Ed was a 1978 graduate of Ketron High School in Kingsport, TN where he made the all-state football team his senior year.  He was also a 1993 graduate of Bob Jones University.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.  He was a 6th grade teacher at Grace Christian School for 7 1/2 years and was manager of the Great Escape Bicycle Shop for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Vanover; a son, Joseph Vanover of the home; a brother, Robert Vanover (Joetta) of Kingsport, TN/ a sister, Lou Ann Baker  (Calvin) of Kingsport, TN; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Linda Page.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Petty Funeral Home, Landrum, SC.  Funeral services will be held at Grace Baptist Church at 11:00am Friday, September 1, 2017 conducted by Rev. Nick Vance.  Burial will be in Pound, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Savings Account for Joseph Vanover c/o First Citizens Bank.
