Douglas Eugene Pierce

Douglas Eugene Pierce, 73, of Landrum passed away on May 17, 2016.  He was the son of the late Virgil  Pierce and Grace Hendrick Pierce.

He was a self-employed paint contractor and loved NASCAR and camping. 

He is survived by the love of his life, Rita Wilson Byers; a son, Gene Pierce; a daughter, Sheila Pierce; step-children, Shawna Lynn Byers and Army Chaplain-Captain Jason Alan Byers; a sister, Laurie Pierce Rivers; grandchildren, Quintin, Josh, Tyler, Kevin, Brittany; step-grandchildren Britney, Bretton, Abram, Gabrielle and Soloman.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11:00am at Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Lynn Stewart.

Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Baptist Church, Hospice of the Carolina Foothills or Foothills Humane Society.
