Billy Searcy

William E. "Billy" Searcy, 73, of Columbus passed away on July 7, 2017.  He was the son of the late Edgar David and Addie Mae Rainwater Searcy and husband of Kathy Tucker Searcy.

He was a weaver at Landrum Mills for 32 years and a member of Peniel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Tucker Searcy; a son, Walden Searcy of Columbus; three daughters, Gwen Searcy of Jacksonville, NC; Amanda Simoncic (Val) of Columbus and Christian Searcy of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren, E-2 Benjamin Mace, Cole Gibson, Michael William Simoncic, Hope Searcy and Amelia Rose Simoncic.

He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Ruby Bridges, Doris Moore, Murrlle Pruitt, Edna Mae Searcy, Walter "Bud" Searcy, Wayne Searcy, and Walden Searcy; and a grandson, Christopher William Simoncic.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Petty Funeral Home .  A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. John D. Williams.
